This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient! I am an elementary school counselor and work with children K-6 at a Title I school. This is my first year and would like to create a safe calming corner for my students to be able to manage the stress and anxiousness of everyday school and life. Many students have been affected from Covid and are having a difficult time adjusting to the new school year. Having the seating set, bulletin board visuals, fidget toys and games while sitting in a calm and safe space will help improve social and emotional learning!
