This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher who loves to make sure my kids are always prepared for their day. My students love to learn and always try their best to stay focused during the day. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as typical. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and strive to give them the best of me.
My Project
Please help me give my classroom the new supplies needed for a successful September.
Being prepared is very important to be successful.
Id love to be able to have new pencils, markers and chart paper for my students. We would also love to have a doorbell to chime so that my students will know when the station time is over. The soft ding will be a reinforcement that is needed to let them be aware of time being up.
The new play dough will be great for our letter center and help me to give my students a multisensory approach to learning.
