My Project

My students come from all over the world, and many of them are brand new to the U.S., N.Y.C., and learning English when they begin school with us. When I can provide them with classroom basics, we can get started with their schoolwork smoothly.

Middle school students need organizing help no matter what language they speak or whether or not they've ever been in an American school.

Our recent immigrant students need this support even more. To keep our students organized, we need to provide them with notebooks, folders, and pens.

This is part 1 of my request for school supplies for 2023–2024. With budget cuts to N.Y.C. public schools and families' tightened budgets, we need these school supplies more than any of our previous school years. Your gift helps remove one hurdle for my students in their acclimation to learning English and adjusting to life in Brooklyn. Look out for part 2 of this project soon. (I'm breaking it into two smaller projects so it has a better chance of getting funded.)
