This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students absolutely love learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. One learning strategy that fosters academic achievement is group work. It allows students to interact with their peers. This type of interaction was absent during the height of the pandemic.
These incredible students get really excited when they are allowed to work in small groups.
New leaders also evolve constantly when they work cooperatively. They get very motivated when they help each other. I am so lucky and thankful to have such a wonderful group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each day.
My Project
As we were beginning to increase our cooperative grouping activities, there is a new surge in COVID 19. It is evident that our students need to be protected as they work together. Without these types of small group activities, our students social emotional needs are not being adequately met.
The plexiglass will provide the protective barriers that will allow my students to interact with their peers and at the same time be safe.
The plexiglass is adding another layer of protection for all of us. We have to follow certain protocol and maintain social distancing. Donating to this project will help to increase academic achievement and at the same time allow students to interact safely.
