This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students I work with often struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. Most of my students begin the school year below the grade-level expectation. Being behind can be difficult for them and a challenge for me so I'm always looking for new ways to motivate my students to practice and improve.
A book I recently read on literacy instruction recommended these fun lap boards so that students can write a sentence, draw a picture to match, and share their work with a classmate or the entire class.
I know my students would be motivated to do their best and take pride in their work by using these specially designed lap boards.
