Sensory Wall

Help me give my students activities to create a sensory wall for sensory and emotional regulation as well as fine motor practice.

My Project

My students are very active learners and need a variety of activities to work on throughout the day. We are in the process of turning cabinets against the wall in the back of our room into a sensory wall and are in need of more activities to add to it. Student will use these activities throughout the day for fine motor practice and to help calm down as needed.

A sensory wall will greatly help to have one area in the classroom for students to make choices about what they need in that moment, whether it's to calm down or engage in an activity.

The activities are varied enough that all students will be able to do several of them independently which is what we work towards in many tasks we do throughout the day. I can't wait to see this space transformed in our classroom and see the benefits it has on social/emotional regulation and fine motor skills.
