This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is composed of 3rd to 5th-grade students with special needs. Most of my students belong to lower-income families and consist of two 3rd graders, three 4th graders, and three 5th graders.

My awesome students love doing multi-sensory activities!

My Project

My classroom is composed of students with special needs. Along with academic needs, my students also deal with some sensory issues that need to be addressed at their onset to avoid disruption of the teaching and learning process. To help them deal with sensory issues, they will need some sensory toys to play with. Sensory toys will help stimulate all their senses. These toys will help them develop these senses in a safe and natural environment using play.

Through the use of play, my students will have a better understanding of their senses and how to manage them efficiently especially when they feel overwhelmed and stressed out.

These sensory toys will help my students focus better, calm down and relax.
