Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students all have severe autism and have a vast array of sensory needs. Our school is very under resourced and need resources for sensory therapy.

Children with autism perceive the world around them differently than we do. Their senses are sometimes heightened or greatly diminished. In order to attend to academic tasks and gain control of their body, my students need sensory breaks throughout the day. My class does not have enough resources to give my students adequate sensory input.

I need sensory balls, theraputty, and other sensory toys so my students can receive daily sensory therapy. These resources will give my students an outlet for their sensory needs.

My students are often unable to focus or attend to their work because their sensory needs are out of control. With your help, they will be able attain control and have access to academic learning. Please give my students this opportunity!
