My Students

I currently teach 9 students in my substantially separate ASD classroom in Brockton. My students require additional materials, modifications, and accommodations to access the academic content effectively. Outside of academics, my students require direct instruction in social skills, appropriate behavior, and activities of daily living.

My Project

This project will provide my kindergarten students with access to a sensory table, along with materials to use in the sensory table. My students have Autism Spectrum Disorder, and benefit from frequent sensory breaks. Sensory breaks can be used to de-escalate students, or provide them with input as an antecedent strategy. Additionally, I plan on using this table during "choice time" in the afternoon.

This sensory table will be used daily by all students in my classroom.
