Our classroom has a sensory table that I typically fill with different textured items for students to explore. If this project is funded, we will be able to incorporate literacy center activities into our sensory table based on our seasonal learning units! Students will be able to independently engage with different literacy activities, including: alphabet letter matching, building CVC words, rhyming, etc. while they also enjoy the fun of a themed sensory table!
Student learning will become so much more authentic through the use of our sensory table that holds literacy center activities!
I can't wait to watch students build CVC words with their friends while they also get to play and feel kinetic sand with summer themed items. I'm so excited to watch my students practice letter sounds using insect based items to match our spring insect unit. I truly believe student engagement will increase exponentially with the use of these supplies!
