My Students
I work in a Title 1 school where more than three-quarters of students come from low-income households. We are a Self Contained Special Education classroom where 100% of our students receive Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with special accommodations. All students are currently reading on a Pre-K, or Kindergarten reading level.
My students are passionate and energetic striving learners who are working hard to develop a love of learning!
Each one of my students learns in their own unique ways, and it is my hope to best offer a safe, inclusive, successful, and fun space to do so! I will always work hard to foster my students' inquisitiveness, silliness, and curiosity by offering multiple ways to learn new skills. I am so excited to watch my students become the best readers, authors, scientists mathematicians, friends, and citizens they can be!
My Project
Students will use these sensory support tools - balance balls and fidgets - to help keep their bodies calm, voices off, and brains regulated and focused. We will use these tools throughout the day, during learning and fun times, and when interacting with adults, and each other. With these supports, students will be able to connect to all that we will learn together to their best ability. It is my hope that my students will feel most successful as learners this year, as they grow and work toward developing a deeper love for learning, exploring, and questioning the world around them!
