My Project
Six little scholars call our classroom home. Our students are autistic and each one of them learns in their own way. We’re trying our best to learn their individual learning styles so they can thrive in the classroom and reach their full potential. Many of our students are sensory seeking, especially when they cannot communicate their needs. These items will promote sensory development, reduce anxiety, and provide a calming effect.
Sensory bottles, weighted stuffed animals, and fidget toys are excellent tools and will help our students develop important sensory skills and manage their emotions in a fun and engaging way.
Additionally, taking a short break to play with a sensory toy or cuddle with a weighted stuffed animal can help them reset and refocus on the task at hand.
This assortment of items will allow us to create sensory bottles that suit the specific needs and preferences of our students as well as providing a relaxing environment in the classroom.
