Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school's occupational therapist comes to work with my whole class on a weekly basis and does pullouts in addition to that. Since handwriting skills are generated from having good control over your core she has suggested stepping stones and yoga cards.

My hope is that by using these tools 2-3 times a week, my students will develop the core strength they need for handwriting.

The other materials on our list are to provide sensory support to overstimulated kids. I know how it feels to hear too much noise during class activities and find myself wishing for noise-canceling headphones sometimes. They also have been helpful for students who have chronic headaches or get anxious and overstimulated - which is many of my students!
