My Project

My classroom currently includes 7 unique middle school students with autism. My project is designed to enhance their environment with sensory tools tailored to the needs of these extraordinary children. By equipping our classroom with a sensory pod, sensory lights, STEM discs, a sensory swing and wrap, and Play-Doh accessories, we will create a harmonious learning space that encourages focus and emotional regulation.

These sensory-rich tools are not just accessories; they're necessities for children who experience the world with heightened sensitivity.

The sensory pod and lights provide a calming oasis amidst the sensory overload, while the swing and wrap help reset their nervous systems. STEM discs and Play-Doh accessories stimulate tactile engagement and fine motor skills, serving as conduits for both academic and personal growth.

My mission with this project is to nurture the unique gifts our students possess by providing them with the resources to match their learning styles. With these tools, I aim to build a bridge between their sensory experiences and academic achievements, fostering an environment where every student can thrive.
