My Students
My class is an inclusion preschool special education class. My students are between the ages 2-5 years with about half having special needs such as developmental delays, Autism, and physical disabilities. The other half are typically developing students that serve as social and language role models. Our school is a Title 1 school in southeastern Virginia and a lot of our students come from military families.
My students love to learn through fun activities.
We sing songs, play games, and explore in our fun centers each day to help us learn.
My Project
We start each day with sensory activities to help calm and focus my preschool students for the day ahead. The Theraputty and sensory dough, will be a great addition to this classroom activity. Also using the wobble cushion will allow sensory input for students while sitting on the carpet or at a table. The beanbag chair and sensory star bean bags will fit perfectly in our class' sensory calm down area. My students love to sit in this area in a comfy seat and use a variety of sensory fidgets. All of these sensory activities help my students to have calm and focused days at school.
