Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My very wonderful students with autism struggle with processing sensory input and communication skills, which affects their mental health. They attend a Title 1 school due to the low socio-economic status of most of my students. They require extra help in learning to express their emotions and learn self-regulation skills.
I am requesting calm strips, Playdoh and Playdoh toys in order to give them the sensory tools needed to self-regulate when they are frustrated.
The calm strips will be placed on all of their desk and notebooks so that they can rub them when they need sensory input.
The Playdoh and Playdoh tools will be in bins in our sensory area.
