Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sensory tools play a vital role in elementary education by supporting students' focus, self-regulation, and emotional well-being. These tools, such as fidget items, sensory lights, noise-canceling headphones, and sensory tiles, help children manage sensory input, which is especially important for my students with sensory processing challenges, ADHD, and autism.

The goal for these tools is to help reduce anxiety, improve attention, and create a more inclusive and productive learning environment.

When used appropriately, sensory tools empower children to stay engaged and better participate in classroom activities.

I am moving classrooms and hoping to create a sensory space to build student independence in regulation strategies. The students struggle with feeling safe and welcomed within the community and I want to do everything I can to provide a space that fuels that.
