This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! Thank you for visiting this page. Cramp Elementary has been approved to have a sensory room for all students!

A sensory room will benefit all students in our school.

Sensory rooms provide a safe, calming space for students to access when they need a break from the classroom. All students have different sensory needs, and students have greater success academically and emotionally when the needs are met.

All items requested will be integral parts of our sensory room. The caterpillar tunnel and body socks will provide full body sensory experiences for our students. The sensory garden, tactile tear back, and wiggle wands will provide tactile sensory experiences. The Prisma light is for our students who enjoy experiencing alternative lighting. The balance board is to promote movement and body awareness. We are hoping to have ample supplies in our sensory room to provide a holistic experience for our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for our students living in an under-served neighborhood to improve their ability to participate throughout their school day.
