My Project
Students returning to school or attending school for the first time post COVID are struggling to stay focused, regulated, and engaged. As a school-based occupational therapist, I have seen not only students on my caseload with an IEP, but also general education students struggle to stay regulated throughout their entire school day. Kids need to move and have tools in school to provide them with the sensory environment they need to be successful. Classroom teachers need tools to help support their students. These materials can be used by all students in school that need support and not just the ones on IEPs. Teachers are constantly reaching out to me as the school OT for support with they students. Students need to be regulated in order to learn in school.
