This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a bilingual program where they learn in Spanish and English. Many of them are immigrants or come from recent immigrant families making it more meaningful to maintain their native language. They love coming to school and are eager to learn and work together. My students are very curious and enjoy asking questions and exploring new materials and ideas.

For many of my students, this is their first time in school, and they are excited about the new things they learn every day.

My Project

Now that we are back in the classroom, we want to provide our students with a safer alternative to the sensory table during their free play. Since we cannot use sand and water, we want to place washable sensory noodles at the table for them to explore. This safer alternative can be washed to make sure that our students stay safe without compromising their natural curiosity to play and explore their environment.

The durable plastic noodles easily store in our sensory table, and they’re fully washable, so they can be reused for years to come!

Students are able to use the sensory table during their free play time twice a day. We plan to place a variety of toys inside the table for students to find such as letters, numbers, balls, and more. This will help enhance their play at the sensory table and keep them engaged. The washable noodles will be enjoyed by our future classes as well. We hope you can support our project for sensory table materials.
