Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latino students at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.

My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school and they enjoy learning!

I'm the special education case manager at my school, and I also have a caseload of 6th and 7th-grade students with disabilities. My students have various disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD, other health impairments, visual impairments, and learning disabilities.

My Project

My students require sensory materials to use throughout the day. These sensory materials help my students calm down and fidget while in school, without disrupting others.

The majority of my students require sensory stimulation throughout the day to focus on their school work.

My students require fidgets to use while they're working in school. Many of my students have ADHD, Autism, or behavioral struggles. These materials will allow my students to fidget while also staying engaged during instruction. My students and I go through materials like these quickly, because the students love them, and they really work!
