I have the privilege of working with kindergarten - second grade students who need mild special education services. It is my job to make sure they are learning to the best of their ability.
They are all amazing kids and I love being able to teach them for a small part of their day.
My Project
This year I chose to focus on getting bouncy bands and noise cancelling headphones for my students who have sensory needs.
The students I work with all have specific needs.
I have seen a need for bouncy bands and noise cancelling headphones in the classroom. Bouncy bands will help give students movement without being distracting to others. The bouncy bands connect to the student desks, so the students can bounce while sitting at their seat. The noise cancelling headphones I chose will help with loud constant noises (fire drills, tornado drills), but allow students to hear instructions.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
