My Project
These sensory materials will make a difference for my students because we can provide frequent opportunities for them to make choices, learn to accept and reject, and increase their autonomy. This skill is imperative for them because learning to communicate a preference is one of their biggest strengths.
My students communicate in various ways and sometimes a consistent mode of communication needs to be taught. Reinforcing and shaping their mode of communication is one of the best things I can do for them. I want them to know it is okay to accept what they want and reject what they don't want.
