My students need materials that can help them regulate and address their sensory needs.
My students are unique learners.
They learn in different ways. They learn best when visual supports are incorporated in the lesson. Many of my students are learning to communicate through Picture Exchange Communication System and through the use of a speech generating device. They do well in structured tasks and structured activities.
My Project
My students need balance balls, peanut balls, kinetic sand, folding mat, bean bag and other sensory materials, which will be used during sensory break. There are instances when my students get overwhelmed and they need to engage in sensory activities that can help them regulate. These materials will both be engaging to them as well as address their sensory needs.
Donations to this project will have a tremendous impact on the lives of my students.
The materials will help address their sensory needs, thus helping them regulate. They will then be able to concentrate more on learning activities that will improve their academic, adaptive and self-help skills.
