Sensory Materials for My Pre K Special Education Class

Help me give my students a variety of sensory materials to encourage their social and emotional learning and to help them adapt to the classroom.

This project is fully funded

My Project

I teach special education, pre-K students. Most of my students have autism and they require a lot of sensory input. Also this is the first school experience for many of my students. They are working hard on their social and emotional skills and how to function and be part of a classroom environment.

My students have already shown so much growth, but I need more materials to help them grow and adapt even more and be even more successful in the classroom.

It can be very difficult for some of my students to sit and attend to activities and lessons, so I am asking for a variety of modified seating options as well as fidget materials that they can access in the classroom. I am also asking for some weighted stuffed animals and calming cuddle balls that the students can use to calm down when they are dysregulated. I am requesting materials such as dough, and squish and squeeze beads that my students can use to address their sensory input needs. These materials encourage their social and emotional skills as well because they are able to interact with other students as they use these materials.
