Sensory Makes Sense!

My Students

My co-teacher and I currently have nine wonderful and energetic 2 year-olds in our care! Our kiddos are curious and always ready to explore something new. Our learning center is very unique in that most of the toddlers in our room also live above the learning center. Our school exists so low-income, single-parent families can achieve sustainable personal and economic self-sufficiency. Our center is open to families utilizing housing above the learning center, alumni, as well as the public.

My Project

Our students love anything that they can get their hands on and squish, squeeze or mold! Having these items would give us more ways to incorporate sensory play in to our daily activities.

With 60% of the children in our classroom receiving speech and/or occupational therapy; we'd love to be able to provide them with additional ways to encourage their motor and language skills.

Not only is sensory play a treat for our kiddos, research also shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain's pathways, which lead to a child's ability to complete more complex learning tasks.
