My Project

In a special education classroom with mainly students with autism, incorporating sensory items is imperative for fostering a conducive learning environment. Individuals with autism often experience sensory sensitivities, making traditional educational settings challenging. Sensory items, such as fidget tools, weighted blankets, and sensory-friendly lighting, serve as essential tools to manage sensory input, reducing anxiety and enhancing focus. These items cater to diverse sensory needs, promoting a more inclusive and comfortable space. Recognizing the unique sensory profiles of students with autism, integrating these tools becomes instrumental in supporting their learning, fostering engagement, and ultimately facilitating a more successful educational experience.

Our students love playing inside and outside!

Developing good gross motor skills is imperative in the early years. We don't currently have many toys for developing their gross motor skills inside our class and would love to provide our students with materials to help develop their gross motor skills as well as elevate their gross motor time. We are asking for a variety of materials to help aid us in achieving this goal. Having these materials available daily for our students to use will make for a truly wonderful gross motor play experience!
