My Project
Our students love to have fun and play. They are still learning the rules of school and enjoy meeting their personal goals. However, they require extra support. Our students are developmentally delayed and functionally learn best through play. They are autistic and require hands-on, tactile activities. They are energetic and can at times have difficulty focusing on tasks. They materials will help our students focus on their work and be able to sit for longer periods of time. The pressure vests and elastic bands will give our students physical sensory input to calm their bodies and help their minds focus on the lesson and activity at hand. The playdough, slime, and other sensory toys will act as fidget toys, keeping their hands busy while their minds are hard at work. The foam mat will give our students a place to safely sit and lay when they need a break from work at their desks.
