Sensory Items

Help me give my students sensory items including tiles, mirrors and other materials. I have some severe and profound special needs students who would greatly benefit from sensory/light/music items.

My Students

I have the most amazing and wonderful special education severe and profound class. My students come from very low-income families. Many of my students live in government housing and the only meals they have are the free breakfast and lunch they receive at school.

My students come to school every day excited to learn reading, math, and life skills.

They are like sponges and I want to provide them with all the tools they will need to be successful.

My Project

I have some special needs students who learn best through sensory/lights/music items. Some of my students are nonverbal and can not walk on their own. They enjoy looking at themselves in mirrors and want to put some mirrors around the room high enough where they will need to stand up to see themselves. My students would benefit from sensory tiles they can walk on in their socks, so they can feel the different textures under their feet. The sensory tiles with the numbers can be used to walk on also, but can be also used for number recognition, counting, and games.
