Help me give my students sensory toys and items used for when they need a break. The bean bag chair is for an "instructional island" where my students can take a break and refocus.
I teach 30+ exceptional students. They are super awesome kids with varying strengths and abilities. Many of my students have sensory issues and it's important to me to help them deal with these issues so they can get the most out of their education. I believe fidgets and sensory toys are a great way to help students relax and focus on learning.
This is my first year as a teacher and I'm excited.
I'm still trying to figure out what my classroom needs so that my students can have their various needs met.
My Project
The items I selected for this project are things to help my students with their sensory issues and to help them relax when they need a break. It is important that students have a way to deal with their stress and anxiety so they can focus on learning. Studies have proven that kids can focus better when they can fidget while being instructed. The bean bag chair is for them to sit on and relax when they need a break. The coloring books, drawing books, and pencils are for my students that relax by drawing and coloring. I picked out fidget bands for chairs to help those students that have a hard time sitting still.
