Sensory Items for Fourth!

Help me give my students headphones and sensory items to enhance their learning experience in the classroom.

My Students

Our school is one of the hidden gems in our town with some of the most amazing students. Although many of our students receive free/reduced-price lunch and are on our backpack program, they still come to school eager to learn and grow in community with each other. In fourth grade, we are constantly thinking outside the box, and finding new ways to learn and help each other.

My Project

Donations towards this project will go towards sensory items and headphones for our school’s fourth grade. I am asking for 2 different sensory items, a flexible seating option, and headphones.

Having these items in the classroom will help our students focus and reset.

This year, I am implementing a calm corner (safe space) in my classroom. This will be a spot where students can go to reset emotionally. I am excited to provide a place where students will feel safe to calm/wind down and start fresh.

I have also asked for headphones for the classroom. These will be used when students are doing individual learning activities on their devices. Having headphones allows them to focus on their own learning and better absorb material.

Lastly, I have an additional flexible seating option. These are the bouncy bands for chairs. These turn any desk or chair into a flexible seat, making it a more affordable option. Having a chair where they can get their wiggles out without distracting themselves or others is a game changer in the classroom.
