My Project

I graduated in December of 2024 and started teaching as a Special Education Resource Teacher in January 2025. As a new teacher, I do not have all of the tools I would like to benefit my students diverse needs. Bouncy chairs, wobble chairs, stepping stones, chair bands, and weighted blankets provide essential sensory input that supports focus, regulation, and learning, particularly for children with sensory processing challenges. These tools promote movement, improve posture, and encourage active engagement, which can enhance attention, and reduce anxiety in classroom settings. Weighted blankets offer calming deep-pressure stimulation, aiding self-regulation and sleep. Wobble and bouncy chairs, as well as chair bands allow safe, controlled motion, supporting fidget needs without distraction. Stepping stones build coordination and spatial awareness. All of these resources create an inclusive, sensory-friendly environment that can help my learners thrive by meeting their diverse physical and emotional needs.
