This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Being a Kindergarten teacher, students arrive with different sensory needs. Their young bodies are developing how to be steady and focused for learning. These items can support them to get their wiggles out in a safe and appropriate way.

Kindergarteners come into school with much anxiety that interferes with learning.

They need tools to make them successful. The items that were selected serve that purpose. Some items are fidgets that can develop their fine motor skills. Flexible seating is also important to give students' agency for their learning styles. With the items selected, there are options to fit their bodies" needs. Since drawing is also a release of stress, Kiwi Stick paints provides sensory input with motiviating option to create art and work off stress.
