This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Adding sensory items in the middle school library is a thoughtful, inclusive and student centered way to engage kids in the community space. Our middle school library services all of the students within our school culture. Having these items will support emotional regulation, neurodiversity and inclusion. It also helps students with focusing and engagement. It creates a calming environment. I am always looking for ways to encourage mindfulness and well being for students. I also believe having various supports within the library builds relationships with students. It offers comfort for students struggling throughout their day.
