Sensory Furniture for My Mild-moderate Intellectual Disabled Students

My Project

The specific items requested will significantly improve my students' learning. Most of my students have chromosomal differences, which create unique challenges in their educational experiences compared to typical students. This year, many have struggled with sensory processing and maintaining focus. By creating a classroom tailored to their specific needs, we can foster an environment where they can thrive.

With 16 students in my class, I am deeply concerned about how ongoing budget cuts are impacting our ability to meet the special education needs of my students.

It’s hard to see them not receiving the support they truly deserve, and I wish we could provide the resources they need to thrive. The requested items are essential for those who find it difficult to sit still, providing them with the tools they need to engage more effectively in their learning. Investing in these resources will benefit individual students and help create a more inclusive and productive classroom environment.

My students are intellectually curious, remarkably resilient, and full of love for learning. Despite the many challenges they face, they consistently express a desire to learn every day. By making learning enjoyable and accessible, we can unlock their potential and ensure they have the opportunities they deserve.
