Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a special day class with 15 students who are in grades Kinder-2nd. I have students with a wide range of disabilities and they are kinesthetic learners. They are little learners who benefit from multi-modality forms of seating to maximize learning to stay engaged and motivated to learn.
Flexible seating options would be a great addition to the class because it would be fun and engaging seating for my students to access while they are learning skills.
If we can get flexible seats such as the wobble stools, we can add them to our phonics centers, math centers, STEM centers, and sensory sand play. This will also help them work collaboratively and build language in centers as they get to sit on flexible seats.
