Sensory Friendly Small Group Seating

Help me give my students basic classroom furniture in order to meet their sensory needs and improve academic achievement.

My Project

All students can benefit from flexible seating and sensory tools. Balance balls and floor seat cushions are examples of flexible seating and sensory tools used to reduce restlessness and improve student focus during learning.

I have the rare opportunity to work with a diverse spectrum of students from kindergarten through fourth grade.

I teach general education students, students with disabilities, and twice exceptional students. Using flexible seating and sensory tools has been beneficial for all of my students. Students' productivity and engagement in the classroom improve when their sensory needs have been met.

The addition of a new table will allow us to replace our old small group table with peeling paint which greatly distracts the students at present.

Help increase the seating options in my classroom to give students the ability to select what best meets their sensory needs. This will increase student ownership of their own learning and productivity.
