Help me give my students a true sensory filled classroom ! These items on my list, especially The DreamGYM Doorway Swing, will help my students to relax, focus, and calm down which will help promote better learning!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having this project funded would be life changing for my students! My classroom serves students in grades K-2nd grade with severe autism. Incorporating resources which can help meet their sensory issues is crucial for their success! The items that I have carefully chosen will help my students use and explore through their senses and this will boost their language, motor and problem-solving skills. For example, my students LOVE to swing outside on playscape but now in the cold winter months it is very hard for me to meet their needs of self-regulating their bodies which I know is so important to do before trying to learn for the day. I am constantly picking them up, swinging them in my arms but this is not enough. Having a swing within my classroom would be wonderful! The items on my list are all sensory focused and would help improve their sensory processing deficits which can lead to improvements in behavior, communication, and social interaction!
