This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sensory fidget toys will help students relieve stress and focus.
Students will use these items after recess, lunch, and specials to help them refocus and be ready for learning in the classroom.
Pictures books about feelings will help my students connect to their feelings and give them strategies for how to deal with big feelings. These books will be using during morning meetings and will be displayed in the classroom library.
A wide variety of quiet fidgets will give students access to different items each week to keep them engaged. These fidgets will also help students with ADHD. Calms strips can be placed on the students' desks for quiet, easy access anytime the student needs it. Mia the weighted Monkey will go in the Calming Corner for those who need that during their "big" feelings.
