Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The sensory elements in the counseling office, including soft lighting, Echo spot, and conversation cubes, will create a more comfortable and supportive environment for students.
Together, these items will make the counseling office a space where students feel supported, understood, and ready to engage in their emotional and personal growth.
Soft Lighting: The calming, adjustable lights will help reduce anxiety and create a soothing atmosphere that promotes relaxation, making it easier for students to open up and feel safe.
Echo spot: Having Alexa available will give students access to calming music, guided meditations, or even nature sounds, helping them regulate their emotions and stay grounded during difficult conversations.
Conversation Cubes: The cubes will provide conversation prompts to help students start discussions, especially those who might find it hard to express themselves. This will empower them to communicate more freely, knowing they have an easy way to get the conversation started.
My students are special because they face challenges with courage and perseverance, and despite difficulties, they continue to strive for personal growth.
