Sensory Calming Corner for 1st-3rd Grade Students

Help me give my students a sensory corner for our classroom. A sensory dark den and calming lights will help students find moments of peace during hectic times of the school day.

My Project

Elementary school can be a fun and exciting place to be. But sometimes, students can also find school to be a little stressful. I hope to create a sensory calming corner in my Special Education classroom to help my students find peaceful moments during hectic times at school.

A dark den will help our ASD students calm themselves if they become overstimulated.

Calming lights will mesmerize students into a tranquil state of mind. Sensory floor tiles and textured wall hangings will allow students to find stillness and self-regulate their emotions.

My hope is the provide a safe, pleasant classroom for my students that will stimulate their learning and supply a calming space for their wonderful minds.
