Sensory Bins

Help me give my students sensory bins to engage with literacy and self-regulate.

My Project

I will use the sand to make a sensory bin for my students with disabilities in their classroom and time in speech therapy.

Fun things that I can put in the bins are alphabet manipulatives, ice-cream cones to play with, and animals to find.

Exploring and playing in the bin can be a soothing activity for students with disabilities. They can have time to self-regulate and talk about what they are finding.

This will promote sensory exploration and communication about what they are finding. This is a safe choice for when they are overwhelmed.
