My Students
My classroom consists of twenty enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I work in partnership with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students, focusing on literacy and language development.
Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.
Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.
My Project
In our inclusive preschool classroom, we guide children through learning experiences which focus on their individual needs and diverse abilities. Some of the children in our classroom have individual education plans. We accommodate the varied goals and needs of the students using a variety of strategies and tools.
The sensory and language materials will promote increased engagement and skill development for children with special needs.
The sensory materials help our students to regulate, explore and interact with peers. Increased language skills enhance communication and connection as the children participate in a preschool social setting.
