I teach 12 students in a self-contained classroom with different needs and disabilities. Students with autism and multiple disabilities learn best with tactile, visual, and sensory input. These sensory materials will give my students the tools they need to focus and de-escalate behaviors, impacting their learning, concentration, and social-emotional skills. The cuddly puppy and the calming ball will provide the sensory input my students need to calm down and focus on tasks. The light table will serve the purpose of a sensory, and tactile as well as enhance their academic skills.
