This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year I am teaching AP Biology, Environmental Science, and three co-taught Biology classes. I teach these three courses with a Special Education teacher so we can help meet the needs of our diverse students. This year I will be advising the Garden Club and Eco Club. My students really care about the environment, gardens, and campus beautification.
This is my first year teaching AP Biology, and we are need of a class set of gas pressure sensors.
During our physiology unit we can use the gas pressure sensors to study muscle fatigue in our fermentation and muscle fatigue labs. Through another Donors Choose project we were able to get carbon dioxide, small and large chambers, and temperature probes. We are continuing to build up our classroom set of sensors so that students can measure data in real time and use statistical analysis on the their Chromebook apps.
The gas pressure sensors and bulbs are important for studying the physiology unit as we study the human body.
