My Project
My Pre-K students are eager, curious learners who explore the world through touch, movement, and imagination. To meet their sensory needs while introducing them to early environmental awareness, I’m requesting sensory materials that encourage creativity, calm, and connection to nature.
This project will provide:
Rice and beans for tactile sensory bins, allowing children to scoop, pour, and explore natural textures while learning about food sources and where materials come from
Kinetic sand and Pluffle for moldable, calming play that promotes fine motor skills and simulates natural elements like sand and soil
Busy books that incorporate environmental themes, life cycles, weather, and animals, offering quiet, hands-on learning opportunities that support early literacy and science understanding
These tools help children self-regulate, stay engaged, and build foundational skills while making meaningful connections to the environment. As they play, we’ll introduce topics like natural resources, where food and materials come from, and how we can care for the planet in everyday ways.
