Help me give my students ways to meet their sensory needs and boost engagement during speech-language therapy sessions!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Amy's classroom raised $261

My Project
I'm a speech-language therapist working with playful and resilient preschoolers in a Title I funded school in a low-income community. We are a diverse community with many different educational needs. All of my preschoolers have speech and language delays and are learning to use a variety of ways to communicate.
Sensory regulation is a crucial piece in overall speech and language development.
With your help, we can meet our students' sensory needs and prime the development of key speech-language skills like shared attention and engagement. Our preschoolers are active and need to explore their environment in safe and fun ways. The tent will be incorporated into obstacle courses and pretend play. We'll be able to target spatial concepts, vocabulary, and following directions. Many of our preschoolers love to explore movement by spinning and rotating themselves and toys. The swivel chair will provide the vestibular input in a safe manner. It will also serve as a calming place to help preschoolers regroup and manage big emotions. We'll use the bean bags in fun ways to target a variety of language concepts while simultaneously building hand-eye coordination and cause-effect skills.
