My Students

We call our school "The Rainbow Unicorn Bubble," for our students love our school and we sincerely love them back. Being a cooperative school and inviting parent input and participation helps to make us a strong community but I believe it is the time we take teaching a social-emotional curriculum and bonding with the students that really makes us strong. Our students can advocate for themselves and are accepting of others, creating an environment where students can be creative and their true selves. Kids learn the skills to work together, collaborate and advocate, the real world skills that are very often missed in textbook curriculum. Our constructivist (hands-on) model allows the kids to follow their passions and learn through experience.

We give our students the opportunity to be themselves and learn in authentic ways; we are the school I wish I had gone to.

My Project

Learning should be active and engaging. Our classrooms begin their days with a morning meeting and building community so that every student feels welcomed and that they belong. The morning meeting books will help educate our teachers on how to build strong and lasting bonds between students and teachers.

This is the school that I wish I had gone to that supports ALL students and their learning needs.

We look at each child as an individual and we take the time to learn about and support their individual needs. This project will greatly bennifit our students with special needs and level the learning playing field for them. Thank you!
