My Students
You know you have a fun classroom when you and your students sing part of the Mickey Mouse March as your attention-getting signal. My classroom focuses on instilling a love for learning as well as an understanding of the magic of imagination.
My 25 little Keffergarteners love our Disney themed classroom and love to come to school each day because of it.
I teach a group of fun-loving, creative, and caring students who exhibit perseverance on a daily basis. I am blessed to have the opportunity to lay the foundation of a love of learning and zest for life each day my Kindergarteners walk through my door. My class loves to share things from home with each other, share their ideas about their learning, dance, and sing, and just be together.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and have a range of experiences to share with their classmates. Many of my students are English Language Learners, meaning another language is spoken in the home. There a multiple languages spoken in our classroom and students love to teach each other how to say things in their home language. Their hearts and minds amaze me daily.
My Project
Kindergarteners learn best through play and exploration. I can talk to them as much as I want, but it isn't until they get to literally dig in and sometimes even get their hands dirty before the concepts take root in their developing brains. Being provided with sensory play tools and materials will help my Keffergarteners develop their fine motor skills while also strengthening their academics.
Adding different tactile elements to our sensory table in addition to letters, numbers, and other academic activities will provide a variety of learning activities for my students throughout the school year.
Exploring the different materials in our sensory table will assist my students in developing concepts of volume and measurement. Our sensory table will allow my students to create, imagine, discover, and learn while engaging multiple senses.
Sometimes the best way to help our students learn is to trick them into it! By adding letters, numbers, sight words, and other academic activities to the mix, students are able to practice their new learning in a fun and different way than they're used to.
