Help me give my students sensory items to help create a more positive learning environment. The ultimate goal with this project is to create a needed sensory area for students to utilize when requiring a brain break!
I serve both as a Special Education Case Manager and teacher at an inner city Montessori Chicago Public School. My students range from early childhood to third grade. They love their school, teachers, and working with the fun, creative hands-on learning materials!
It is an absolute joy working with students from all over the city.
Not a day goes by that I don't learn something new while working with them. Every staff member works to meet the individual needs of each student.
My Project
Sometimes my students just need a brain break! Therefore, there is no better way to provide that needed time away from classroom overload that to utilize sensory items. My ultimate goal is to set-up a safe area in the school where students can go to use hands-on materials which help to create a more positive learning experience. Please consider the following benefits of sensory education and play:
-Development of motor skills
-Promoting scientific thinking and problem-solving skills
